Pointe

Pointe

Pointe technique encompasses both the mechanical and artistic aspects of pointe work.  It is concerned with body alignment, placement of the feet, and the manner in which a dancer transitions to and from en pointe.

Dancers are only advised to start pointe work when they have acheived proper technique and alignment in soft shoes and are over the age of 12. This class accommodates both beginners and advanced pointe dancers. The last half hour class will be designated for foot release work.

Proper attire and hair up in a bun is essential. See our dress code under the policies tab.

Shoes can be ordered from Spectrum City Dance in Prince Rupert, call Gina 250-624-6131 and explain you are a beginner, provide shoe size, width etc.
